Matt's Second Letter

I am kind of missing the snow right now. It is really hot here in Santiago. This week has been crazy. The other day my companion and I were sitting at a bus stop and a guy that was really drunk came up and sat right next to us. I was sitting in the middle of my companion and the drunk guy so the drunk guy leans over me and tells my companion, ¨With all due respect, people from the United States are stupid¨ and of course I can´t understand him because a. it´s spanish, b. he is drunk and slurring his words. So my companion says, ¨Hey that isn´t very respectful,¨ then the drunk guy says, ¨Are you saying I´m wrong?¨ My companion says ¨Yeah¨ Then the drunk guy says to me, ¨Am I wrong?¨ And I can´t understand him so I say ¨Sí, sí.¨ Then he walks off. It was crazy. Anyways, everything is going good. Spanish is still really hard but it´s getting better. We were at the house of an inactive family and somehow got talking about pebre and I told them how Dad told me to try some. So they invited us over on Sunday night and made us some pebre. It was really good. I think it is one of the only spicy things that they make in Chile. Thanks for all the Christmas presents, you overdid yourself. That was way too much candy. But thanks. I´ll talk to you next week.

Love,Matt
